Cristina Farinha received her PhD at the University Porto and HKU Utrecht School of the Arts (Netherlands) in 2012: “Bound to Mobility – The building up of a performing arts community in the EU”.
Her research and work interests originated in general issues on migrations and labour markets before concentrating on social status of artists and afterwards on cultural, educational and social policies spanning the local, regional level and European arenas.
Cristina is currently Executive Director of ADDICT – Agency for the Development of Culture and Creative Industries (Portugal). She is also a consultant in the field of educational, cultural and social policies from local to European level.
Cristina lectures and develops research on artistic labour markets: employment issues and social status. Her current work concentrates on the conditions of mobility for performing artists in Europe.
